Biographical Description

William Henry Stayton was born in Smyna, Delaware, on March 28, 1861. Stayton was a prominent attorney, businessman, and Navy veteran who is best remembered for leading the movement against the 18th amendment, earning him the moniker "father of repeal." He died in Smyrna on July 12, 1942.
