Biographical Description

Thomas Hoskins (d. c1792) was a resident of Chowan County. In 1778 he signed an oath swearing his allegiance to the State of North Carolina and promised to report any treasonous conspiracies that might threaten North Carolina's independence. That May of that same year he also appeared before the Edenton District Superior Court, where he filed a recognizance, or bond, promising to keep the peace and maintain good behavior.
