Biographical Description

Samuel Dickinson (1743-1802) was a doctor, a member of the committee of safety, and justice of the peace in Chowan County. In 1777 & 1778 he signed two oaths swearing his allegiance to the State of North Carolina and promised to report any treasonous conspiracies that might threaten North Carolina's independence.
