Biographical Description

Henry Slade was a justice of the peace and was appointed Sheriff of Martin County in 1777. In 1778 he was ordered to arrest William Tyler, a known member of the Gourd Patch Conspiracy, and bring him before the Edenton District Court of Oyer and Terminer, but Slade was unable to find Tyler in the county.
