Biographical Description

Thomas Stubbs Sr. (d. 1795) was a farmer in Tyrrell County. In 1777 he tried to dissuade his neighbor Thomas Harrison from becoming involved in the Gourd Patch Conspiracy and refused to associate himself. Once the conspiracy was revealed, Stubbs then signed a sworn deposition about his knowledge of the plot.
