Biographical Description

David Barron (d. 1778) was a major in the Craven County Regiment of the North Carolina Militia. In July 1777 Governor Richard Caswell sent him orders to dispatch troops to find and capture William Brimage, who was on the run after his role in the Gourd Patch Conspiracy was revealed. Barron sent a group of men under Lieutenant Shadrack Fulcher and Brimage was captured.
