Biographical Description

James Wolfe (1727-1759) was a British army officer who, as a commanding officer of British land forces, planned and led a daring siege and attack on Quebec in 1759 (an assault that was part of the French and Indian War). Quebec ultimately fell to British forces, but Wolfe had been mortally wounded in the assault.
