Biographical Description

Francis Henry French was born on September 27, 1857, in Fort Wayne, Indiana. French was a West Point graduate and career army officer. During World War I, he served as commander of Camp Jackson (May 19, 1918 to August 31, 1918) and then Camp Sevier (until December 7, 1918). French died in Washington, D.C., on March 10, 1921.
