Roscoe Giles Briggs was born on June 23, 1859, in North Carolina. Briggs was a farmer and businessman in Wilson, North Carolina. He organized and served as the president of the Citizens Bank and was connected with the W. W. Sims and Company and Harper and Company. He died in Wilson on October 12, 1933.
