Biographical Description

Noah Edison McMurren was born in Elizabeth City, North Carolina, on April 3, 1895. During World War I, McMurren served with the 155th Depot Brigade and the 351st Machine Gun Battalion. He saw overseas service from June 10, 1918 to March 6, 1919 and was honorably discharged from the service on March 27, 1919 with the rank of corporal. In the postwar years, he moved to New York City, where he worked as a clerk for the U.S. Postal Service. McMurren died on November 17, 1968.
