Martin Leroy Wright was born on September 12, 1882, in Guilford County, North Carolina. Wright was an educator who served as superintendent of the graded schools in Edenton, North Carolina, and the Carteret County Public Schools. He died in Greenville, North Carolina, on December 10, 1945.
