Biographical Description

James Nelson enlisted in the North Carolina Militia and was wounded in the knee and disabled during the Battle of Alamance on 16 May 1771. He later petitioned the North Carolina Colonial Assembly and was successful in winning a pension in November 1771. Any other information about Nelson has not been located.
