Elizabeth Liles was born in about 1710 and resided in Chowan County, North Carolina. In about 1730 she married Charles Roberts, also of Chowan County, and the couple had several children together. She survived her husband's death in 1766 and in 1774 she and several members of her extended family signed a nonimportation agreement that later became known as the Edenton Tea Party Resolves. She died sometime after 1774.
