Elizabeth Blount was born in North Carolina in about 1755. In 1773 she married Jeremiah Vail in Chowan County. The following year she, along with her mother-in-law and several other members of her extended family, signed a nonimportation agreement that later became known as the Edenton Tea Party Resolves. The couple had at least two children together and genealogical records suggest that she died in about 1783.
