Mary Hall was born in Chowan County, North Carolina sometime between 1743 and 1759. The daughter of an Anglican missionary, Mary Hall married Thomas Jones, a lawyer, politician, and former clerk of the Chowan County Court and the couple had at least five children together. In 1774 Mary Jones and her mother and sisters signed a nonimportation agreement that later became known as the Edenton Tea Party Resolves. She died in Chowan sometime prior to July 1776.
