Biographical Description

Elizabeth Viner was born in about 1667. A resident of Perquimans Precinct, North Carolina, she was likely a servant. In August 1697 when Dorothy Steele ran away from her husband, she convinced Viner to join her. Eventually when they were caught or returned of their own accord, Viner submitted testimony to the court against Steele. Viner was not charged for running away, but in October 1697 Viner became indentured to Thomas Harvey, the deputy governor of the colony.
