Biographical Description

John Nelson was born in about 1650. Nelson moved to Bath County, North Carolina by 1702 and established himself somewhere along the Neuse River. In Bath, he and several other colonists submitted a petition requesting the colony's support against a group of American Indians who opposed their settlement. He later served as a judge for the county. Genealogical records suggest he died in Bath in about 1708.
