Biographical Description
James Caldwell "Collie" Houston was born on October 29, 1884 in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina. Houston was an engineer for the Southern Railway. On August 26, 1919, a labor dispute in Charlotte turned violent, and Houston was shot and killed.
