Thomas Threadgill was born in about 1752. A resident of Brunswick County, Virginia, he served at least a year in the 2nd Virginia Regiment of the Continental Army as a captain or possibly as a lieutenant. After his discharge, Threadgill moved south and joined the 3rd Georgia Regiment of the Continental Army as a captain and also served as a captain in the Anson County Regiment of the North Carolina Militia. He settled in Anson County, North Carolina, where he died in about October 1843.
