Biographical Description
Elizabeth Murray Clapp was born in Burke County, North Carolina on June 29, 1788. The daughter of a Revolutionary veteran, she married Adam Clapp Jr. in 1809 and they had at least four children. By 1830, her mother Rosana Murray was living with the couple, and continued to do so until Rosana's death. Elizabeth Clapp died in Union County, Illinois in about 1870.
