Biographical Description
Mitchell Lee Shipman was born on December 31, 1866, at Bowman's Bluff, North Carolina. Shipman was an editor and educator who served as Commissioner of Labor and Printing 1909-1920. He died in Raleigh, North Carolina on May 18, 1944.
