Biographical Description
William Campbell Lord was born in North Carolina in about 1838. A resident of Salisbury, he attended the University of North Carolina, graduating in 1858. A Confederate captain during the Civil War, he was severely wounded during the Battle of Chancellorsville and later died of his injuries in May 1863.
