Biographical Description
Mary Lippitt (née Hoslter) was born in Wilmington, North Carolina in 1804. The widow of a wealthy Wilmington merchant, she hosted gathering in her home which the Cotten family and other members of their social circle attended. She died in Wilmington on June 19, 1854.
