Biographical Description
Rosa Winter (née Engelhard) was born in Monticello, Lawrence County, Mississippi on May 6, 1837. She was the younger sister of Joseph Adolphus Engelhard, future Secretary of State of North Carolina. In 1855 she married Dr. Rice Hooe Winter. She died in Jackson, Hinds County, Mississippi on June 14, 1867.
