Biographical Description
Henry W. Haywood Jr. was born in Raleigh, North Carolina on October 23, 1801. A lawyer, he represented Wake County in the North Carolina General Assembly in 1831 and from 1834 to 1836. He then served as a U.S. Senator from 1843 to 1846. He died in Raleigh on October 7, 1852.
