Biographical Description
John Portfield Stedman was born in Fayetteville (Cumberland County), North Carolina on February 26, 1854. Stedman was a drug manufacturer in Oxford (Granville County) who served as town commissioner and county commissioner. He died in Morganton (Burke County) on April 18, 1914.
