George Moore Pritchard was born near Mars Hill (Madison County), North Carolina on January 4, 1886. Pritchard was a resident of Asheville (Buncombe County) and Marshall (Madison County). An attorney by training, he served as a state legislator (1917-1919), solicitor for the 19th judicial district, and member of the U.S. House of Representatives (1929-1931). Pritchard died in Asheville (Buncombe County) on April 24, 1955.
