Lieudean Lewis Wilson was born in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina, on December 20, 1887. Wilson was a police officer in the city of Charlotte from December 1912 until his resignation in November 1918. In late August 1913, he was shot by a man named Joe McNeely but survived the confrontation and, after about a month of hospitalization, later recovered. He died in Louisiana on September 12, 1927.
