Biographical Description
James Alexander Chatham was born in North Carolina on May 24, 1881. Chatham was a banking executive who served as president of the Elkin National Bank in Surry County. He died in Elkin on January 11, 1973. He often signed his name as, and was referred to as, "Alex Chatham."
