Biographical Description
Joseph Bingman Sparger was born in Surry County, North Carolina, on November 22, 1864. Sparger was a longtime resident of Mount Airy, where he served as postmaster (1924-1936), county commissioner, and as chairman of the Surry County Highway Commission. He died in Winston-Salem (Forsyth County) on September 13, 1947.
