James Calvin Reins was born in Wilkesboro (Wilkes County), North Carolina, on February 9, 1880. Reins was a proprietor of Reins Brothers Company, a marble, monument, and tombstone dealer in Wilkes County. He died in North Wilkesboro on August 7, 1961.
