Biographical Description
Francis "Frank" Richard Hewitt was born in Campbell County, Virginia, on November 16, 1853. In addition to serving as president of the Home Building and Loan Association in Asheville (Buncombe County), Hewitt engaged in mining, farming, railroad construction, and engineering. He died in Asheville on March 17, 1930.
