Biographical Description

James Webb Jr. was a resident of Chowan County. In 1778 he signed an oath swearing his allegiance to the State of North Carolina and promised to report any treasonous conspiracies that might threaten North Carolina's independence. He later continued to support the cause of American independence and served as the secretary for the North Carolina Board of Auditors in Edenton District.
