Biographical Description
William Bryan McKenzie was born in Suffolk, Virginia on January 11, 1754. A reverend, he married Margaret Cathcart in 1775 and the couple resided together in Bertie County. Active in the revolutionary cause, in 1779 he signed a petition to the North Carolina General Assembly asking that William Burket be exempted from militia service. McKenzie died in Bertie County on September 27, 1810.
