Biographical Description
Joe Brannan was born May 31, 1880. He was a farmer in Wendell, North Carolina. Following World War I, tobacco prices plummeted, leaving Brannan feeling despondent. He committed suicide in the days preceding September 20, 1920, leaving a wife and four children.
