Biographical Description
John Underwood was born on February 5, 1868, in North Carolina. Underwood was an insurance agent who served as mayor of Fayetteville (elected in 1914 and 1919) and represented Cumberland County in the state legislature (seated 1909). He died in Fayetteville (Cumberland County) on May 4, 1921.
