Richard Alexander Stanford was born on April 12, 1898, in Person County, North Carolina. Stanford was a farmer employed by William L. Spoon in Burlington, North Carolina, when he registered for the draft in September 1918. He died in Graham (Alamance County) on October 30,1975.
