John Arrington Kitchin born on May 3, 1871, in Scotland Neck, North Carolina. Kitchin, a farmer in Scotland Neck, was the brother of former governor William Walton Kitchin and U. S. Representative Claude Kitchin. He died in Scotland Neck (Halifax County) on September 1, 1925.
