Biographical Description
Louis Walter Cherry was born on January 31, 1889, in Pitt County, North Carolina. Cherry was a farmer in Pitt County when he registered for the draft (World War I) in June 1917. He was subsequently inducted into the service in June 1918 and served until honorably discharged in December 1918. He died in Greenville (Pitt County) on March 7, 1972.
