Benjamin Wynns (1710s-1788) was a politician, militia colonel, enslaver, and planter in colonial Bertie and Hertford Counties. Wynns held a number of offices over the course of his career, including a stint as deputy surveyor to the crown from 1744 to 1746. He represented Bertie in the colonial Assembly from 1754 to 1760 and the newly-established Hertford County 1762-1768, 1771-1772, and 1773-1774. In 1755, he joined other merchants, traders, and planters in petitioning the Board of Trade for relief on trade restrictions.
