Joseph Bell (died circa 1777) was a local officeholder, militia officer, and legislator in colonial Carteret County. He served as a justice of the county court (1741-1777), sheriff (1742), and representative in the colonial Assembly (1748-1760, 1764, & 1765). In 1755, he joined other merchants, traders, and planters in petitioning the Board of Trade for relief on trade restrictions.
