Wellington E. Johnson was born on October 11, 1894, in Cumberland County, North Carolina. At the outbreak of World War I, Johnson was employed at the Neconsett Manufacturing Company in Cumberland County, North Carolina. He died in Fayetteville on July 24, 1953.
