Lalister Bernard Bryant was born on December 14, 1887, in Cumberland County, North Carolina. [Note: There is some documented variation in regards to his birthyear. His World War I draft registration card records his birthyear as 1884, while his headstone and death certificate record it as being 1887.] At the outbreak of World War I, Bryant was employed as a farmer and laborer in Cumberland County, North Carolina. Bryant died in Clinton (Sampson County) on July 22, 1970.
