Harry Emmons Reid was born on October 9, 1877, in North Carolina. Reid was the proprietor of the Reid Hardware Company in Lincolnton who served as the chairman of the Lincoln County Exemption Board during World War I. He died in Baltimore, Maryland, on August 21, 1932.
