Thomas Barker (1713 - 1789) was a prominent Edenton lawyer and Bertie County legislator who served as public treasurer of the northern district of North Carolina from 1748 to 1764. In 1778 he signed an oath swearing his allegiance to the State of North Carolina and promising to report any treasonous conspiracies that might threaten North Carolina's independence.
