James Hasell (died 1785) was a prominent planter, colonial jurist, and local officeholder who served as a member of the North Carolina Council (1749-1775), as president of the Council (1760-1775), and as chief justice of the colonial courts (1750-1755, 1758-1759, 1766-1767, & 1774-1776).
