June the 18th 1838
This day came before me one of justices of the piece for said county Laurance and Martha Petteford and Made oath in dew form of law persons of credability that they wear acquainted withe Vallentine and Rachel Locus and they state that they saw them going to and from the place whearr they wear said to have been marred wich they suppose was about one mil from thear fathers and they livd to gether as man and wife untill the said vallentins death. And that they had nine children they futher state they have no doubt of thear having been marred though they did not see them marred they state they cant say as to the date of the mariage but it was som time in the revolutionery war
