My dear Governor Craig:

We are planning to hold in Asheville, July 11 - 15, one of the largest Forestry meetings ever held in the South. As you will see from the letterhead, practically all the Southern States are represented on our committees.

I trust that we can count upon you for a twenty minute address on the first day of the meeting, on "State Forests and Forestry" or some similar subject. I should like to put you near the beginning of the program so that you could start the deliberations of the Congress.

The program will be as follows: Tuesday, July 11th, Organization and discussions on the general subject of "Forestry and the Public"; Wednesday, Excursion in carriages to the Biltmore Forest Plantations; Thursday, Addresses and discussions on the general subject "Forest Fire Prevention"; Friday, Addresses and discussions on Forest Management"; Saturday, An all day excursion through Pisgah National Forest in automobiles, to inspect lumbering under Federal control and to see forest regeneration where fire has been kept out.

Trusting that we can count upon you for your assistance in this important meeting,

Very sincerely yours,

Joseph Hyde Pratt
President.

Secretary.
