Boone, N.C. June 17th 1913.
Dear Governor Craig:
There is a widrspread interest in the Watauga Railway. The work has stopped, the Railroad people claim they expected convicts when they began the road.
Our people have lead them to believe they would get them, on account of legislation. We certainly hope you will do all in your power to aid us. Every other section has railroad facilities It is a fine proposition for the State. Our people have voted bonds almost unanimously, they expected the convicts, and we shall be awfully disappointed if we do not get them.
Very respectfully yours,
