I have read with much interest the Report of Hon. J. S. Mann Supt. of State Prison in regard to convicts on Statesville Air Line and other Railroads.

In the interest of my home county and the counties of Iredell & Surry, now without railroad facilities- Yadkin entirely and the other two in part, I wish to ask your Excellency to consider this well before acting. We are depending entirely on the Statesville Air Line for a railroad and knowing your good judgement as we do the good people of this community are hoping that you will do whatever [illegible] you can for us.
